Entering the Theatre for the Performing Arts, the visitor transforms into the glory of old vaudeville. Featuring continental seating for up to 1,900 patrons, every seat has a terrific view of the stage at the Theatre, guaranteed by the proscenium opening of fifty-seven feet by twenty-eight feet. The seating plan includes floor seating for almost 1,200 and balcony seating just over 700.

The Theatre is capable of handling your program's technical needs. These include forty-eight line sets (counterweight), a sixteen channel in-house sound system as well as in-house lighting. A wide variety of programming works in the Theatre including meeting presentations and keynote addresses for conventions.

The Baton Rouge River Center Arena plays host to a variety of concerts, trade shows, sporting events and family shows. Kid Rock, Cher, Tim McGraw, 311, Al Green, and Martina McBride are just a few of the acts to recently play the Arena.

Events requiring different seating configurations are no problem. Set-ups for the Arena can range from up to 12,000 for concerts to 8500 for sporting events to an intimate theatrical setting of 4500. In addition to the Arena setting, the River Center offers three meeting areas that can be configured into eight separate rooms, totaling 8000 square feet. Our in-house caterer will assist with your event to ensure its success.

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Baton Rouge River Center Expansion has completely transformed downtown Baton Rouge. The entire complex, including the existing Arena and Theatre for the Performing Arts, as well as the new Exhibition Hall, includes over 200,000 square feet of new and renovated space, and incorporates state-of-the-art exhibition, meeting, concession and kitchen facilities. The new 70,000 square-foot Exhibition Hall can be combined with the existing Arena to create more than 100,000 square-feet of contiguous exhibit space. The River Center will accommodate a variety of events including, but not limited to: exhibits, trade shows, consumer shows, banquets, receptions, conventions, general sessions and meetings.

The Exhibition Hall design incorporates regional architectural elements, such as exterior shutters, deep sunlight filtering exterior spaces and double height porticos. These design elements are evident in the grand main lobby as well as the exterior second-floor veranda that showcases views of the Mississippi River.
The Ballroom of the Baton Rouge River Center offers the full spectrum of versatility, access, and amenities that are required for today's sophisticated convention, trade shows and galas. There is easy access to the ballroom via the two 20' doors that offer "drive-on" loading and unloading to the hall floor. The Grand Ballroom offers up to 26,150 square feet of column-free exhibit space. The Ballroom adapts to meet the needs of any size group, utilizing a movable sound wall to divide into 1/3 and 2/3 sections allowing for exhibits and general sessions in adjoining areas. Utilities are available on thirty foot standards on the ballroom floor.
